Alagá at Sining

Interdisciplinary Artist

Alagá at Sining (He/Him, b. 1998, Cavite City) is a 23-year-old queer interdisciplinary artist. His body of work advocates for our natural heritage by creating stories of culture and nature, with nurture - by decolonizing and raising awareness of the representation of the plethora of Philippine indigenous flora and fauna species and the important roles that they play in the environment for biodiversity protection and conservation. As a celebration of queer ecology and documentation of choreography of power, on how the ecosystem is controlled and changing, and how indigenous species participate in this cycle of change, he mirrors the patterns of movements of indigenous flora and faunas that have contributed to the spiritual-social correlations in our rich traditions, folklore, and culture.
